नमस्कार मित्रो!  आज की बात में हम एक ऐसी शख्सियत को लेकर आप से रूबरू हो रहे हैं जिसका पूरा जीवन सनातन धर्म व देश की आजादी के लिए समर्पित रहा। इस महान सेनानी का नाम है श्री देवनायक उर्फ (हटीला बाबा)। त्याग-तपस्या के लिए हटीला बाबा का जन्म पंजाब के गांव जुगराँव (यही गांव लाला लाजपतिराय की भी जन्मभूमि है) में हुआ था। आप बचपन से ही देश भक्ति में रचेपचे थे। बताते हैं कि आप सरस्वत ब्राह्मण थे। परिजन पुरोहिती का कार्य करते थे जो उन्हें पसंद नहीं था। इसलिए किशोरावस्था में ही यह अपना गांव छोड़ नाभा (पटियाला) चले गये थे। वही पर 1928 में नाभा के राजा रिपुदमन सिंह (गुरुचरण सिंह) को अंग्रेजी हुकूमत ने गद्दी से हटा कर राजनीति कैदी बना तमिलनाडु के कोडाईकनाल भेज दिया गया था। इस से पूरे पंजाब में बुरी तरह से अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ विद्रोह फ़ेल गया था। इस अंदोलन में बाबा पहली बार देश के लिए लिये जेल गये थे। अंग्रेजी कैद में आपने आठ माह कठोर यातनाएं सही। यहां से छूटने के बाद आप दिल्ली जाकर "रियासत" पत्र के संपादकीय विभाग में कार्य करने लगे। कुछ समय बाद आप वृंदावन आ गये। फिर भी भजन, पाठ-पूजा के साथ वह आजादी के आंदोलन से जुड़े रहे। 09 मई 1930  को आप क्रांती वीर रामशरनदास जौहरी के नेतृत्व में 

नौजवान भारत सभा के जुलूस में मथुरा पहुचे। यहां पर आप अंग्रेजी कहर से बचते हुए भूमिगत हो गये और हाथरस आ गये। यहां पर आपने सब्जी बेचने का कार्य किया और आजादी के आंदोलन में सक्रिय रहे। आज के ही दिन हटीले बाबा ने हाथरस में नमक कानून को तोड़ अंग्रेजी हुकूमत को ललकारा था। हांलाकि लोगों के सहयोग के चलते अंग्रेज उन्हें यहाँ गिरफ्तार नहीं कर सके। कुछ समय बाद आप वृंदावन आ गये और पुनः आंदोलन में  सक्रीय हो गये। यहां एक सभा को संबोधित करते हुए आपने जमकर अंग्रेज और उनकी गलत नीतियों के खिलाफ भाषण दिया। जिससे अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ विद्रोह पनप गया बाबा को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया और दो साल के लिए जेल भेज दिया गया। इसके बाद तो बाबा कई बार जेल यात्राओं पर गये। 1942 में आपको पांच वर्ष के सश्रम कारावास की सजा सुनाई गई। इसी वर्ष 13 दिसंबर को जेल के स्नानागार में आप को लकवा मार गया और 21 घंटे की बीमारी के बाद आप देश के लिए शहीद हो गये। शत् शत् नमन् है महान सेनानी को 🙏

 Hello friends!  In today's case, we are meeting with you about a person whose entire life was dedicated to the freedom of eternal religion and country.  The name of this great fighter is Shri Devnayak alias (Hatila Baba).  Hatila Baba was born in Punjab's village Jugraon (this village is also the birthplace of Lala Lajapatirai) for 

sacrifice and penance.  You were engrossed in patriotism since childhood.  It is said that you were a Saraswat Brahmin.  The family used to act as priests, which they did not like.  Therefore, when he was a teenager, he left his village and went to Nabha (Patiala).  At the same time in 1928 Raja Ripudaman Singh (Gurucharan Singh) of Nabha was removed from the throne by the British rule and sent to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu as a political prisoner.  This led to a revolt against the British in the entire Punjab.  Baba went to jail for the country for the first time in this movement.  You did eight months of harsh torture in English captivity.  After leaving here, you went to Delhi and started working in the editorial department of the "Princely" letter.  After some time you came to Vrindavan.  Still he remained associated with the freedom movement with bhajans, recitation and worship.  On 09 May 1930, you reached Mathura in a procession of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha under the leadership of Kranti Veer Ramsharandas Johri.  Here, you escaped from English havoc and went underground and came to Hathras.  Here he worked to sell vegetables and was active in the freedom movement.  On this day, the stubborn Baba defied the British rule by 

breaking the salt law in Hathras.  However, due to the cooperation of the people, the British could not arrest them here.  After some time you came to Vrindavan and became active in the movement again.  While addressing a gathering here, you spoke fiercely against the British and their wrong policies.  As a result of the revolt against the British, Baba was arrested and sent to jail for two years.  After this, Baba went to jail visits many times.  In 1942, he was sentenced to five years' rigorous imprisonment.  On December 13 this year, you were paralyzed in the prison bath and after 21 hours of illness, you were martyred for the country.  Salutations are to the great fighter.
